Peter Foley, frustrated at the lack of quality music venues south of the river, started staging gigs at his Oakleigh home 4 years ago. Famous Australian musicians like David Bridie, Stephen Cummings, Rebecca Barnard,Lisa Miller and Dave Graney perfomed on the small stage in Peter’s lounge room. In mid 2007 Steve Carr from the Oakleigh Bowling Club approached Peter and asked him if he would be interested in presenting some larger scale gigs at the club. The monster was born. The gig was instantly popular

Event details

Billy Miller turns 64 on Friday, July the 29th, and what better way to celebrate than for Billy and his band The Love Brothers to play another one of their electric Beatles shows at the Caravan Music Club. Echoing their popular Sunday afternoon Beatles shows, Billy and band will open with (what else) “When I’m 64”, followed by a rousing two sets of Beatles classics as only they can produce. Special guests will be announced closer to the gig.
In July 1965 Billy’s mum bought him his first guitar, and a week later he had the chords to 50 Beatles songs under his belt. Until then, singing along with the Fab Four in front of the mirror, using a broom for a mike stand, was the order of the day.
“There’s a lot of tame Beatles immitations out there, but the difference when Billy sings and the band plays, is that when you close your eyes, you can feel them channel the raw authentic sound, spirit and energy of the Beatles.
