Event details

Come down y'all and join rainbow-fusion/nu-jazzers Messy Mammals on a Sunday arvo to celebrate the launch of their first album - the maximalist music project: "REWIND ZODIAC".

Fresh from a few local gigs / single launches for their new tracks "Moon Falls" and "Zodiac" (as well as a show in London last month), Messy Mammals are primed to drop the big one.

"Rewind Zodiac" is a trippy piece of work - colourful, big on grooves and kind of insane; a cosmic, multi-layered journey built of twelve tracks, with a narrative of personal experience running in reverse. Sonically, the album is full of uplifting harmonies, glitchy beats, jazzy chords and trippy synths. Master mix man Damien Charles (Hiatus Kaiyote, Gotye, Coda Chroma), on mixing/additional production duties, helped the band tie all of these sounds and ideas together into one cohesive little universe. Also, complementing the Zodiac album aesthetically, artist Emily Jackson has created unique and psychedelic artwork for the album and singles. And with a Rewind / Zodiac video and extra events and projects in the pipeline, there is so much more on the way.
