This July, PROCESS teams up with IADV, Indigenous Architecture and Design Victoria. IADV's mission is to strengthen culture and design in the built environment SPEAKERS: SARAH LYNN REES - Charles Perkins Scholar, Cambridge University MPhil MICHAEL McMAHON - RMIT University, ETSAB Barcelona CHARLES SOLOMON - Landscape Architect, Garawana Creative Speakers will share ideas and research connected to Indigenous CULTURE and COUNTRY, and how they explore these themes in practice and academia. Using provocations, drawings and diagrams, Sarah will present research and investigate alternative ways of looking at Indigenous housing in Remote Australia. Charles and Michael will discuss how design, landscape and architecture can preserve and celebrate the value of Indigenous culture and connectivity to the traditional land – thus also being an outlet for generational cultural preservation long into the future.
