Event details

This month we're gonna have a vintage Filmonik experience by being in the back room at Loop Bar for one month only. That means super intimate cozy fun to keep warm during cold July. Filmonik is an open-screen short film screening for short films of any genre that have a duration of 5 minute or less. The audience gets to discover new short films for free on a big screen and on a great sound system, chat with filmmakers and drink a few beers in a laid back bar environment. As a filmmaker you can show up on the night with your newest film on a USB drive and we'll screen it. Uncurated, spontaneously submitted short films of any genre and of all filmmaking levels create awesome and surprisingly balanced screenings for the public and for the filmmakers who climb on stage after their film for a quick QA with host Iphigenie Frey. You can read the loose guidelines here: http://filmonik.com.au/how-to-screen/. You can screen and will see comedies, horror, drama, visual experimentations, docos, animations, action, and everything in between in equal doses. Filmonik is part of the worldwide Kino movement active in more than 70 cities around the world (http://www.planetekino.com/). You can see it as a non-competitive film fest without the entry fees or just a way to have a (couple of) pint with funny creative people. MONDAY JULY 31st at Loop Project Space and Bar. 23 Meyers Place, Melbourne CBD. 6:30pm Event starts. 7:00pm Short films start.
