Event details

To satisfy overwhelming demand and with two sold-out Corner Hotel shows, POND today add a third and final Melbourne show to their national September tour dates.

The psych-rockers will take in three back-to-back Corner Hotel dates on Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd September. Tickets to the newly added Wednesday 20th September Melbourne show are on sale now.

Fronted by the enigmatic Nick Allbrook, and comprising Jay Watson, Joe Ryan and Jamie Terry, Pond are one of Australia’s most exciting music exports, and will play a total seven dates around the country on their first national headline tour since 2013.

“Pond are a breath of fresh air. The Australians’ sound is built around Led Zeppelin-esque grooves, enormous guitar riffs and seventies-scale song structures… they can boast a certain kind of timeless cool… they probably are the world’s best jam band.” – The Line Of Best Fit

“Pond were flawlessly loud as fuck… The ridiculous fuzz Pond projected into the crowd had an instant effect on everyone, kind of a warm fuzzy feeling, that funnily enough left you feeling grimy and dirty. In the best possible way.” – Monster Children

Pond released their seventh album, The Weather, in May. Produced by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, the record is perfectly measured in its lurching between moods, relevant in its synth-pop/guitar-psych balance, and bang on the money in its polemical anxieties. Riot Mag described current single, Paint Me Silver, as a “perfect pop song”.
