The Night Cat is a multi-function live music venue located on Johnston St in the trendy suburb of Fitzroy, Melbourne. With a stylish yet relaxed vibe, The Night Cat is open seven nights a week and plays host to a range of leading DJ’s and live bands from various genres of music. The venue has two main areas – a bar where you can enjoy a drink and watch performances, and a dance floor area to really get the night going. Food is also served most nights, providing something to eat as you set yourself up for a night of partying. Kattimoni and Fulton Street are teaming up to deliver a jam packed evening of smoking hot Soul Sessions at The Night Cat, Saturday September 30th. Opening at 10:30pm with Fulton Street, an exhilarating 11-piece band led by commanding vocalist, Shannen Wick and featuring a rock solid rhythm section and dynamic horn section combining classic elements of soul and R&B with magnetic energy to create an irresistible sound. Followed by 2 midnight sets by Kattimoni, a powerhouse soul-mama vocalist fronting a fiery 8 piece funk lineup from around the globe led by Egyptian guitarist/ producer, Bisho Brown. Vibrant and energetic groove based funk rhythms, explosive soul uplifting melodies and conscious hip-hop inspired vibes, Kattimoni reflects a perfect fusion of contemporary soul with the essence of old school retro funk.
