Event details

After creating and screening 21 short films in two weekends we're back to our regular monthly screenings at Loop Bar. Come this month to see some Filmonik Kabaret films that couldn't make it to the finish line or simply come to catch up and watch creative short films on a big screen. Filmonik is an open-screen screening for short films of any genre with a duration of 5 minute or less. The audience gets to discover new short films for free on a big screen and on a great sound system, chat with filmmakers and drink a few pints in a laid back bar environment. As a filmmaker it is open-screen because you can show up on the night with your newest 5-6 minute or less film on a USB drive and it will get screened. Organize your own premiere with us or run your festival film without the hassle of submitting and paying entry fees. Spontaneously submitted short films of any genre and of all filmmaking levels create surprisingly awesome and balanced screenings for the public and for the filmmakers who climb on stage after their film for a quick QA with the host. You can read the loose guidelines here: http://filmonik.com.au/how-to-screen/. You can screen and will see comedies, horror, drama, visual experimentations, docos, animations, action, and everything in between in equal doses. This month will also see the world premiere of a mysterious action comedy named "Textile". TUESDAY November 21 at Loop Project Space and Bar. 23 Meyers Place, Melbourne CBD. 6:30pm Event starts. 7:00pm Short films start. Filmonik is part of the worldwide Kino movement active in more than 70 cities around the world (http://www.planetekino.com/).
