Event details

We surivived The day will have passed once again. The day marking the date that this land was first invaded in 1788. The day First Nations people of this land began to be subject to severe genocidal practices and policys upon our very own lands. The ongoing ramifications of this action still affect First Nations people up until this very day 230 years later. Still to this day us as First Nations people of this land are subject to a plethora of policy and attitudes which keep us as a people oppressed and at the margins of much that occurs on this land . However the attempt to eradicate us never quite worked. We have survived. We are here still, practicing culture in our own ways, and finding ways to thrive in these lands of ours that are now covered in citys such as Naarm. This event is a gathering together of many First Nations artists based on Kulin Lands in Naarm who continue to display the strength and beauty of our peoples. Still in spite of attempted eradication, creating some of the most powerful art of these times on these stolen lands. This event will showcase a diverse range of First Nations performers that represent a cross section of the myriad of music being made by First Nations artists today. We have survived and we shall continue to , always here on sacred indigenous lands. We acknowledge that this event will take place on the sacred stolen lands of the Kulin Nation people whose sovereignty was never ceded. We acknowledge that this land is an ongoing crime scene which must be rectified at some point in order for true justice to ever occur for anyone whom wishes to label this society as a fair and permissable one .
