Event details

CLOSET is back for 2018 with a brand-new home at Glamorama! As we enter our ninth year, on Fri Feb 28, CLOSET is returning to our old stomping ground on Brunswick Street with a launch party devoted to Cher. If you could turn back time - to quote Cher herself - you'd remember the days when CLOSET was held at the old First Floor. For three years, CLOSET packed out that dancefloor each month with hundreds of Fitzroy's finest homosexuals, and we're going to again. Now its been revamped as Glamorama with a fancy fit out and even fancier cocktails for you to enjoy, and beer garden (so smokers don't have to sit outside in the gutter!) Even better, Glammo has Melbourne's best soundsystem with an epic Funktion One. WHERE: Glamorama, 393 Brunswick Street Fitzroy WHEN: Fri Feb 23 2018 LINEUP: Coming soon DOORS OPEN: 10pm till late DOOR ENTRY: $15 on the door FURTHER INFO: FB: facebook.com/closetpartyoz INSTA: @freddiecloset POSTER GIRL: Cher By now you've heard the news - Cher is coming to Australia to grace the gays with her presence for the 40th anniversary of Mardi Gras. What better poster girl for CLOSET than the icon herself? The Goddess of Pop herself is 71 and still strong enough. She's also a lifelong LGBTIQ activist herself, and mum to Chaz Bono. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: CLOSET is a night for homosexuals and those who love them since 2009. Glamorama is on 1st floor so is not wheelchair accessible venue. CLOSET is an 18+ event. Please bring photo I.D. CLOSET aims to create a space for LGTBIQ people and their friends to come together and be themselves. We have a zero tolerance policy towards sexual harassment, any anti-social, homophobic, transphobic, biphobic or racist behaviour. Be aware of the space you are in and enjoy yourselves. Avoid drinking and driving, illicit drugs and non-consensual touching, and be mindful there may be lights that may be hazardous to people with photosensitive conditions. Closet Caretakers will be present at the event to look out for you if you feel unsafe, uncomfortable or unwell.
