Hoi Palloi w/ Hannah Blackburn and Moonspice

Line-up

Event details

Debut headline show from alt jazz/neo-folk sausages Hoi Palloi at the Gaso upstairs with very lovely mates Hannah Blackburn and Moonspice. HOI PALLOI Hoi Palloi have been cooking up songs and playing What Are The Odds for 6 moons or so, relishing in delivering textural grooves, impressionistic harmony and abstract lyrical narratives straight into your chest. Their sound is a mixture of jazz/alternative folk/neo-soul and Hannah's compositions aim to reflect matters of liminality, the vagueness of perception, the ocean and being a good egg to your mates. Their sound has been described as 'a sip of baileys in between a bunch of Melbourne bitters' by a punter wearing a Brunswick beanie. HANNAH BLACKBURN Melbourne's Hannah Blackburn specialises in honest and intimate songwriting - radiating vulnerability and encapsulating exactly what it is to feel heartache. Her charm, warmth, wit and self effacing humour will put you at ease as you feel a metaphorical pat on the back from your new storytelling companion. https://open.spotify.com/artist/76N4RBCCcxnKzPkSee7N5J MOONSPICE Moonspice is a seven piece upbeat blend of originals and oompah-fied covers in a high energy Eastern European and gypsy fusion. soundcloud.com/kate-adele-terry/sets/moonspice We acknowledge the peoples of the Kulin Nation and pay our respects to all elders past, present and emerging.
