Event details

It is an honor for Bluesfest Touring to bring original members of The New Power Generation (The NPG) to Sydney and Melbourne in March. The NPG’s intent is to honor Prince who was their boss, their mentor and to give fans a chance to celebrate and say goodbye to one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. Those who knew Prince knew that he was always pushing himself and experimenting with new sounds. The musical chemistry of working with new musicians was a part of that process. When he formed The NPG in 1990, together they went on to create "Diamond & Pearls" a record that sparked more hits on the Billboard charts than any other Prince album released since Purple Rain. These included “Cream”, “Gett Off” and of course “Diamond and Pearls”. The NPG’s shows will be an opportunity to hear Prince’s music played by the people who made it with him, including long time musical director Morris Hayes. Get ready to laugh, dance and cry one more time to some of his biggest hits.
