Event details

Common Ground and Bizarro come together to bring you the ultimate Summer fling, featuring two highly infectious party starters, Move D and Jayda G, for a day-time affair under the gum trees of Penny Black's beer garden. Melbourne's love for Move D runs deep, a consistent crowd favourite that has sound-tracked more than a few Summer love affairs. The man's smile is as infectious as his selection of diverse grooves, he can predict, shape and read any crowd with an immense understanding of the dancer's rhythmic requirements. The supernova of talent that is Jayda G isn't slowing down, her own brand of body-rhythmic dance music has won the hearts of many. She hasn't put a foot wrong since her release on Melbourne's own Butter Sessions, going from strength to strength with each release through her own labels Freakout Cult (R.I.P.) and her newly formed imprint JMG Recordings. Jayda's last visit had the crowd of Inner Varnika in a soul-filled trance as she traversed disco, hip-hop and house effortlessly, this will be no exception. The last star of the day is none other than Melbourne's own Roza Terenzi (sorry Perth, we've claimed her). Terenzi has been consistently enchanting listeners with her diverse and dynamic releases on labels like Kalahari Oyster Cult and Voyage Recordings, as well as performing unforgettable live and DJ sets. A serial party starter and highly skilled technician behind the turntables, Louis McCoy will begin the proceedings. Common Grounds very own is known for the rare ability to weave between hip-hop, house, drum'n'bass and anything obscure, keeping the narrative intact. Join us in concluding our 'Summer Romance'.
