Event details

Indie-rock icon, Cat Power returns to Australia in February 2019! Over a quarter century, Cat Power has established herself as one of the most distinctive artists of her generation. Her prowess as a songwriter, a producer, and most notably – as a voice – has only grown more influential. With brand new album Wanderer (out October 5), Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) resets her dial, offering a collection of songs that function as pristine examples of her still-evolving creative practice. Across 11 stripped-back tracks, the simplicity of Cat Power’s own instruments – guitar, piano, and of course, her beloved clarion voice, shine. Experiencing Cat Power live has been described as life-affirming, shocking, and haunting. This time around, Australian audiences will be offered a live introduction to singles such as ‘Woman’ featuring vocals from Lana Del Rey, harrowing cover of Rhianna’s ‘Stay’, and tracks with more hope than we’ve seen before, but that rip your heart out just as much as a classic Cat Power experience. Tickets go on sale 10am, Monday 8 October!
