This will be their inaugural Winter Dance event, following the sold out success of the longstanding Summer Dance Series, and New Years Eve dance party Last Dance which debuted in 2018. And what a winter-warmer line up it is! Calling in the experts of cold weather climates, artists Omar S and K-HAND hail from Detroit, Michigan and Pender Street Steppers all the way from Vancouver, Canada. The Detroit legend Omar S is something of a mythological figure in dance music and is noted for his raw, stripped-back techno and production. The well established producer has curated a compelling sound that is completely his own, equally famed for his funky sets as his solo productions. Releases on his own FXHE Records and Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature imprints have proved game changing within the industry, and, in light of his latest offering 1992, there’s no doubt Omar-S will continue to shape the modern house landscape. Omar-S is supported by the Pender Street Steppers, who will bring their breezy, hazy house music to build the heat. When they are behind the turntables, the Steppers are celebrated across the region for their ability to instantly imbibe an atmosphere of love, sensuality and freedom. And fellow Detroiter K-HAND, officially named “The First Lady of Detroit” by the city council for her work as a techno pioneer, a business woman and a multi-media artist, rounds out the international cold climate crew.
