The Drop Festival is a sand and surf hungry event that follows the World Surf League all across Australia. The Drop Festival is gathering people that are into the beach culture, love a good surf, and are always down for a good time. Yeah, that's right, the festival is tailor-made for rad surfer dudes to kick back after a long day on the board.
Supported by the World Surf League and triple J, the festival is set to make waves once again for its third edition. Between February 29th and April 25th, the festival will land in places where WSL is in full force. In 2020, the festival will all more location to its tour, and along the way, they will also reveal the Australian surfer vibe in Auckland, New Zealand. The festival has also announced a larger international appearance, teasing fans with a presence in the likes of Japan, Hawaii, Brazil, Portugal, or France. On March 7th, the festival will take over Surfest in Newcastle. From 1 PM, people can gather in Empire Park and get the party warmed up for all the surfers and those that need to have some fun! The festival will continue along its route to the next stop!
For their sun-kissed audience, the Drop has brought some of Australia's best artists who embody the care-free adrenaline rushing surf and beach culture. The Presets and Dz Deathrays will deliver the more energy filling sound while Boy & Bear, Ball Park Music, Graace, or Kita Alexander will keep things mellow and soulful for the crowd. Allday is the only name out there that will please the more hip-hop oriented fans. The artists will also be supported by local talent at each festival stop.
