Event details

Stable Music in conjunction with The Substation present, RVRB featuring the legendary turntablist, Ben Sims direct from the UK. Reverberation, in psychoacoustics and acoustics, is a persistence of sound after the sound is produced. A reverberation, or reverb, is created when a sound or signal is reflected causing a large number of reflections to build up and then decay as the sound is absorbed by the surfaces of objects in the space – which could include furniture, people, and air. This is most noticeable when the sound source stops but the reflections continue, decreasing in amplitude, until they reach zero amplitude. Throughout that time, the man has honed his reputation as a tight, energetic mixer who skilfully weaves together his own distinctive blend of tough funk and hardgrooves, often using three-deck wizardry and plenty of dexterity. From the early formative days, Ben has earned his stripes spinning hip hop, house and rave on pirate radio, at parties around Essex and East London through the 90’s as an in demand DJ. Moving into the new millennium as a label boss, producer and internationally recognised techno legend in his own right, Ben Sims has spent all his conscious life exploring the many facets of underground dance music. Be it at clubs like Fabric London, Atomic Jam, Berghain, Florida 135, or any number of festivals around the world, Sims sets are powerful, memorable, and unique, while constantly pushing the boundaries of a DJ set utilising a mesmerising blend of vinyl, CDs, software and literally anything he can get his hands on. Ben Sims is a true turntablist and seeing is beliveing, plus we'll have lasers, lots of lasers and premium level d&b audiotechnik sound. Melbourne artists will be featured in the coming weeks. https://www.facebook.com/pg/bensimsofficial https://www.instagram.com/bensimsofficial https://thesubstation.org.au https://stablemusic.com.au Supported by AIAIAI Australia Design and concept by Studio-io
