Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is Australia’s largest and most iconic sporting stadium, located in the city of Melbourne. With a capacity of 100,024, it is the largest stadium in the southern hemisphere and the 10th-largest in the world. It is used for cricket and Australian rules football matches, and traditionally hosts the final of the Australian Football League Grand Final each year. Built in 1853 and home to Australia’s first Test Match in 1877, the MCG boasts a history of high profile events, including the 1956 Summer Olympic Games and the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
