The stadium is primarily used to host football matches the home stadium of the Scottish National Team and has hosted three European Cup Finals, one Champions League Cup Final and four Scottish Cup Finals. The stadium is most noted for its historical and architectural significance, having been developed in 1903 and listed as a category B building of historic importance in 1989. Aside from matches, the stadium has also hosted various concerts, with the most famous being Pope John Paul II in 1982.
