Boughton House is an impressive historic building located in Leicester, England. It is listed grade I on the National Heritage List for England and has been the family seat of the Duke of Buccleuch since the 1680s. The house was first built in 1639 and the current house was built in 1714 by Thomas Archer. The building consists of a Pavilion style with five and a half bay façade with elaborate Georgian interiors. The house is surrounded by vast gardens designed by Charles Bridgeman, the classical landscape architect that worked for William III. There is an extensive parkland around the house, full of surprises such as the walled garden, the formal terrace, a lake, four ornamental bridges, and the grotto. Boughton House is open to the public as a visitor attraction and can be hired as a venue for weddings, special events, and private dinners.
