Built in 1998 primarily for the FIFA World Cup, it is now the home of the French national team, as well as hosting a variety of world-class entertainment events. Notable concerts at Stade De France have included U2, Rihanna, and Coldplay. It is also a significant host in the professional rugby union league, Top 14. Famous boxing matches, such as the 2014 super fight between Carl Froch and George Groves, have also been held at Stade De France. It remains a popular, iconic venue in the city of Paris.
