Event details

Indie record label, film company and publishing house Common Cult are turning 1 this July, and to celebrate they’re throwing the coolest 1st birthday party you’ve ever been to. Featuring live sets from wild funk-punk boys AMIKO and your favourite indie-weirdos Anti-Violet, this night will also see the comeback gig of laid-back rockers Meander as well as debut material from Tina Growls and Lewellyn Irving (of Anti-Violet). But the party doesn’t stop there, with funny, thought-provoking readings from Common Cult writers (TBA) between sets, a wicked table full of zines and fresh merch and many other birthday surprises. Free party hats for everyone on entry! Founded in 2016, Common Cult is a DIY collaborative of writers, musicians and filmmakers based in Melbourne. We are super passionate about creating fresh, fun, challenging, quirky or otherwise cool art. We stand for being able to create and share your work without barriers. $10 entry. Tix available now through Moshtix or on the door. - This event will take place on stolen lands of the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded and a treaty was never signed.
