Australian indie-punks, The Hard Aches, have unveiled new Australian tour dates for June 2019, which follows previously announced Europe and UK dates throughout April and May. Queensland indie four-piece, Major Leagues, will be joining The Hard Aches on their upcoming Australian tour, which includes nights at Adelaide's Lion Arts Factory, Melbourne's Howler and Darwin's Railway Club, marking the band's first visit to the capital of Australia's Northern Territory. The 10-date tour will kick off at The Zoo in Brisbane on 6 June, running through to the Darwin date on 28 June. Tickets and more info at thehardaches.com.

2018 was a monumental year for The Hard Aches, with the Adelaide two-piece unleashing their sophomore album ‘Mess’ to rave reviews from critics and fans alike. ‘Mess’, released via Anchorhead Records, saw Ben David (vocals, guitar) and Alex Upton (drums), team up with esteemed Melbourne producer Sam Johnson (Camp Cope, The Bennies) at his studio in Holes & Corners, before engaging the talents of Grammy-Award winning engineer, William Bowden, to give the newly-formed punk anthems their finial finesse. As the band's songwriter, Ben has previously described ‘Mess’ as 'the best representation of us as a band' and 'the album we’ve been working towards creating through years of touring and making music." His notion is one that's shared among fans, who flocked to see The Hard Aches perform their new songs across two Australian headline tours throughout 2019. ‘Mess’ also features guest vocal parts from Camp Cope’s Georgia Maq, The Bennies’ Craig Selak, and Long Island punk-rock legend Jeff Rosenstock.

"This is The Hard Aches at their very best." - Kill Your Stereo

"The skilful portrayal of such brutally honest emotion is certainly why Mess will be on repeat around the country." - themusic

The release of their second album saw The Hard Aches continue to shine light on personal topics of mental health, providing an emotional outlet and positive conversation starter among the music community. The band continue to proactively support mental health networks and campaign to end mental health stigma through their music, interviews and live shows. Listen to a recent chat between Ben and prolific Australian journalist and triple j radio host, Richard Kingsmill, in which they discuss the mental health narrative throughout ‘Mess’. The record’s most notorious single ‘Happy’ has also enjoyed much air-time on leading Australian radio network, triple j. Discussing the song’s featured guest, Georgia Maq, with triple j, Ben said, "Someone who for me has been a huge light and influence over the years." Explaining the song was about,"struggling with identity, struggling with finding where you belong in your own little world and who you want to be in your own little world but also finding that light in times where its hard to see passed the dark".

The Hard Aches burst onto the Australian punk-rock scene with 2013 EP ‘Organs & Airports’ before 2016’s ‘I Freak Out’ gained them substantial nationwide traction. The duo also released a 7” split with regular touring pals Muncie Girls (UK), which featured The Hard Aches’ hit 2017 single, ’Brain Drain’. 2015's 'Pheromones' remains a firm fan-favourite (featuring hit track, 'I Get Like This'), while 2018's 'Mess' well and truly cemented the band in the hearts of punk-rock fans across Australia.
The Hard Aches will jump back on the road in June, touring Australia extensively across 10 dates.
