The Regent Theatre in Melbourne is a beautiful heritage building located on Collins Street. This classic theatre presents a range of musicals, concerts, plays, ballets and operas for its audiences. Built in a Spanish Californian Baroque style in 1929, it is often described as the grande dame of the Melbourne entertainment scene. It has been lovingly restored in recent years to ensure that its luxurious settings and beautiful interior remain in excellent condition. It is one of the city's most prestigious performance venues and continues to showcase a range of performances from local, interstate, and international performers.

Melbourne Opera continues its Wagner cycle with a production of the first of his Das Ring des Nibelungen operas, Das Rheingold. International Wagnerian Maestro Anthony Negus returns to conduct, after his successes of Tristan and Isolde (for which he won the 2018 Green Room Conducting Award) and The Flying Dutchman, leading an international cast - Darren Jeffrey, Hrólfur Sæmundsson, James Egglestone, Lee Abrahmsen, Roxane Hislop. MO's recent productions of Norma, The Flying Dutchman, Rossini's Otello, Tristan and Isolde, Lohengrin, Tannhäuser and Rienzi have all received critical and popular acclaim. This new production is directed by Suzanne Chaundy and designed by Helpmann Award winner Dale Ferguson.
