The ground is the home of the Balmain Tigers and Western Suburbs Magpies football teams as well as being used to host major events, such as the NRL Sydney Sevens. There have been many exciting matches played on Leichhardt Oval since it was opened in 1975, with many memorable victories shared by the local teams, and incredible entertainment by the visiting teams. The ground's surrounding park makes it ideal for hosting community events and providing local families with an excellent place to relax and enjoy a range of activities.
