One came in out of night,
and there were pedals in the air,
and upon the walls,
blown in by prying wind.
now came in Another,
out of a confusion of bodies,
out of a turmoil that veils them.

The two have been,
unfolding, among the primal things
and the dew and the rain,
draw it fourth in such ordinary places.
One would find, that Another may be:
if the world should dry as Autumn’s hand
or as a cool wave, be swept away
not one,
but the same.
